The High Court has barred controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi from publishing defamatory words against politician Steve Mbogo and his wife.
In the orders issued on Thursday, Nyakundi was further directed to bring down all articles and social media posts he published about Steve Mbogo on November 28, 2018.
Mbogo moved to court claiming that Nyakundi published defamatory articles on his website linked to his marriage.
He argued that as a result of the said defamatory publication, other bloggers and users of online platforms had shared the story and turned him into a subject of discussion.
“The article written by the plaintiff to the utter prejudice of the plaintiff whose reputation has been and continues to be immensely damaged and have been turned into objects of cyber bullying unless the orders herein are granted , at least in the interim to curtail further dissemination of the defamatory articles written by the respondents against the applicants,” reads court papers.
Mbogo said there was no justification for the blogger to publish a defamatory article concerning him and his family.
The politician further claims that the said article has caused damage to their reputation.
Mbogo filed the case together with his wife Swabrina Jamal.
