Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed is announcing the results of the primary school national examinations in Mombasa.
The announcement is being made at The Star of the Sea Primary School in the presence of officials including Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang and Chief Executive Officers George Magoha (Kenya National Examinations Council) and Nancy Macharia (Teachers Service Commission).
EARLY RELEASE
The results have come early, as indicated in an announcement by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday.
The president earlier said that all the candidates who took the tests will be called to secondary school.
He also promised that those who do the Form Four examinations will get slots in technical training institutes and universities.
Prof Magoha assured the public that there was no leakage during the tests.
“Cheating in exams is a thing of the past,” he said, but lashed out at the “small percentage” of teachers and officials who were caught engaging in malpractices.
The CEO asked parents to accept their children’s results.
“It is our duty to ensure we spend quality time with our children,” he also said, adding parents are responsible for the many cases of teen pregnancies.
He asked parents and guardians to protect their children from exploitation and help prevent these cases.
