Kisumu man lynched after killing and stuffing woman in bag

A man was on Thursday morning lynched in Kisumu after residents claimed he had killed a woman.
The incident which occured at Carwash area in the lakeside city drew a large crowd as irate members of the public beat up the suspect as he tried to escape from the scene of crime.
The body of the woman had been folded and placed inside a suitcase. Her body had several stab wounds on her thighs and neck and her throat had been slit.
BIZARRE 
Neighbours though say they heard a commotion and when they went to check what was happening they saw blood oozing from the suitcase. When they opened it they found a woman’s body.
They raised an alarm and the man was cornered as he tried to escape.
Dozens of shocked locals milled at the scene to witness the bizarre incident.
Michael Oluoch Odhiambo, a night guard at the building where the incident happened, says the two came in at around 3am.
COMMOTION
“They were not talking. They walked in, opened the door and put on loud music,” he says.
Mr Odhiambo says she had never seen the woman before. He added the man often comes and leaves at night.
He said when he heard the commotion he locked the gate and called the police but the suspect attempted to escape through the backdoor before being surrounded by an irate mob who beat him to death.
Kisumu County Commander John Kamau said they had taken the bodies to the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital and that his team will be investigating the circumstances behind the murder.
