Authorities in Uganda have recovered army uniforms, ammunitions and knives in the home of a US national following a police raid.
Police on Saturday raided the home of Paul Mathias Rogers, 57, in Bwebajja on Entebbe Road after his wife Lillian Keitesi reported a case of domestic violence.
Police found him in illegal possession of government arms.
“After the search at his home, we found army uniforms, ammunitions and knives that are a reserve of armed forces. The case file has also been sanctioned by the Resident State Attorney and the suspect will be produced in court as soon as possible,” said Kampala Metropolitan Police commander, Commissioner Frank Mwesigwa.
He said they are investigating the suspect on several offences, including illegal possession of government stores.
In March last year, Immigration officers at Entebbe International Airport confiscated a rifle he had brought in the country illegally.
Police are also working with Immigration officers on another case against the suspect after he was found with expired passports.
