Police are investigating the death of a nine-year-old pupil who drowned in a school swimming pool.
The girl was swimming with other children at Elimu House in Kamulu, in the outskirts of Nairobi when the incident occured.
According to police, the girl was pronounced dead at Ruai Family Care Hospital.
The girl was a pupil at Uthiru Primary School.

Separately, a trainee pilot was found dead hanging from the ceiling of his parents’ house in Nairobi’s Garden estate.
David Mbevi Kiundu, 28, was studying at a flight training centre located at Wilson Airport.
His father, Richard Kiundu, said the son hanged himself in his room using an electric cable on Thursday.
Police are treating the case as suicide.
Meanwhile, in Kilimani, a man died on his bed after drinking alcohol, 10 days after he was discharged from hospital where he was treated for substance abuse.
The victim’s wife, Mary Kiprop, said she arrived at the home on Wednesday and found the door locked from inside.
“With the help of neighbours, she forced the door open. She found her husband’s sprawled on the bed. Beside him were treatment notes and drugs indicating that he was admitted at Avenue Hospital between November 20 and November 25,” a police report showed.
It added: “Also found beside the bed was an empty bottle of Kibao Vodka which he is suspected to have consumed.”
The body of the 40-year-old man was taken to Chiromo Mortuary.
